I need some help to choose 45- ! {{forumTopicSubject}}
Hej !
Im going to buy a used 45'er and my thoughts are mainly between 2- and 4- takts engines.
I'm seeking for a bike that has not many kilometers (3.000-10.000km), and not old (2007- and up). Just a standard bike for short trips.
My budget is from 3.000-6.000 ddk
How have Peugeot vivacity and Piaggio zip 50 come out ??
Any advise will be great, if you have any factory's/models that you would recommend!

First of all, they have a great fuel economy, which can be further improved by having a slightly lean mixture in the mid-throttle, so you are forced to give more throttle and thus lowering pumping losses, making the engine more efficient at the mid-throttle while you still have the full power at WOT.
Second thing is that the four-strokes are restricted in both the transmission and the rpm, which gives them a definite top speed that you can always count on. This also means that you can improve the breathing by removing restrictions from the air filter and get better accelleration without an illegal top speed.
Because of this, a restricted but optimised four-stroke are often faster accellerating than a restricted two-stroke or at least just as fast.
Third good thing are the exhausts. The four strokes do not smell as bad as the two-strokes and do not have the high-pitch buzzing of a two-stroke. The original exhaust system is often very quet, but for some bigger models, you can legally change the exhaust to one with a very deep and agressive tone.
After you've decided to get a four-stroke, you'll have to think about what size you want. The big ones are long and heavy but also incredibly stable. This enables you to lay pretty far down in turns and also having a machine that you can trust to be safe.
Also, The bigger scooters tends to have the same brakes as their 125cc siblings that are approved for around 92 km/h with two persons on, so you can trust your 45-scooter to have far more than enough braking power.
The last thing you'll have to consider is the brand. Italian, Taiwanese and Japanese brands are often better building quality than the chinese ones available, but they also usually cost a little bit more. Anyway, you should be able to get a decent scooter for six thousands since the market for used 45-scooters are not nealy as big as the one for used 30-scooters.
Good luck choosing.
I can recommend Kymco Agility 50 and Kymco Super 8 50.
